September 30, 2021 -Starting October 1, 2021, sponsors operating the CACFP will need to credit grains using ounce equivalents (oz eq) instead of "servings" in meals and snacks. Meal Production Records will need to reflect grain servings in ounce equivalents.

Visit the CACFP Meal Pattern section for more resources. Links to the USDA website features additional resources to understand and learn how to implement grain ounce equivalents in the CACFP.

TDA has a targeted meal pattern waiver for those who are not able to implement this new method of crediting grains.

Your Education Service Center specialists are ready to provide technical assistance as needed on this topic. On October 1st, there will be a virtual training on grain ounce equivalents through CACFP LIVE.

Be prepared for this change and attend the training by registering with your ESC.
