USDA Presenting Back to School Webinar for School Nutrition Professionals and Industry

Severe Need Reimbursements for School Year 2022-2023 - UPDATED
August 1, 2022 - As schools return to normal operations, CEs that operated SSO during school year (SY) 2020-2021 may not have the data needed to determine eligibility for severe need breakfast and lunch reimbursements in SY 2022-2023. These CEs may use the most beneficial claims data going back to SY 2019-2020 to qualify for severe need, as outlined in this article. Updated brochures now available from Team Nutrition!

Updated July 1, 2022; Originally Posted June 17, 2022 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service has provided information for Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) operators concerned about access to formula and their options for safely feeding infants in their care. These questions and answers support CACFP operators and the families they serve during the ongoing infant formula shortage due to supply chain issues, which worsened due to a major formula recall in February.
Funding Opportunity for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
June 16, 2022 - The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) is excited to announce its receiving of funding for $3,759,351 from the Build Back Better (BBB) Reach and Resiliency grant to apply towards the State Distributing Agency (SDA) and Eligible Recipient Agency (ERA) projects in Texas. The initiative’s key objective is to expand TEFAP's reach into remote, rural, Tribal, and/or low-income areas that are underserved by the program.
