Healthy Meals Incentives Recognition Awards

USDA and Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) are collaborating to offer Recognition Awards to celebrate School Food Authorities (SFA) that have made significant improvements to the nutritional quality of their school meals.

These awards will spotlight innovative practices, student and community engagement activities, and strategies schools have used to provide meals that are consistent with the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Awardees will receive:
  • National and Local Recognition
  • Digital Toolkit
  • Travel Stipend to attend a National Healthy Meals Summit

Congratulations to the Texas HMI Grantees

As part of a cooperative agreement to develop and implement the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Healthy Meals Incentives Initiative, Action for Healthy Kids announced that 18 Texas schools were awarded nearly $2 million to support their efforts in improving the nutritional quality of their school meals and supporting local agriculture. All HMI grantees will be required to apply for one or more of the HMI Recognition Awards.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
