May’s important USDA Foods updates for schools include information and resources to help prepare for PY27 round 2 ordering, along with ESC support.
Click here to see the USDA Foods Ordering Updates for May. "
Program Year 2026-2027
Round 1 ordering is complete.
Run the WBSCM Entitlement/ Bonus Summary Report to verify PY27 balances.
Round 2: The WBSCM Catalog is open, for direct delivery items only, and will close on Friday, May 29, 2026.
- TDA recommends running an updated NSLP WBSCM Requisition Status Report from 07/01/2026 to 06/30/2027, to review all requested cases or pounds along with respective anticipated delivery dates prior to entering new requests.
- TDA will communicate all final allocations to processors in July. Some pounds not fulfilled with new incoming truckloads may be loaded into the tracking systems as free-state account pounds to offset carryover.
- If you opted into the DoD Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program, TDA will load these funds into FFAVORS in late June. Increasing the allotted amount is not an option at this time. All requests to opt-in to DoD have been finalized and will not be adjusted.
- Remember that all requests for USDA Foods can be tracked in the WBSCM Requisition Status Report, and ongoing pricing fluctuations may occur during the program year until the requisition updates to a “Purchased” status.
- Refer to the Resources and Forms page on www.squaremeals.org, Food Distribution Program for NSLP, for helpful information regarding ordering USDA Foods such as:

- Reminder that all orders, per delivery site, must equal a minimum value of $150.
- The link to request additional funds is currently unavailable on Squaremeals. Currently, no additional funds are available at the state level.
- Reminder to receipt for fresh produce deliveries within 2 business days of delivery. If there is a discrepancy, make sure the delivery bill of lading is noted at the time of delivery and select the correct indicator in the FFAVORS receiving drop-down reasons.
