Availability of COVID-19 Response Waivers

June 3, 2022 - TDA has been authorized to approve non-congregate, meal service time, parent pick-up, and offsite monitoring waivers on a case-by-case basis in instances when a COVID-19 outbreak in or around the area of a site is affecting food service operations or the safety of participants.

(Note: SFSP operators are not currently approved to conduct offsite monitoring. TDA has submitted a request to USDA and is awaiting a response. Please check SquareMeals daily for updates.)

Program operators must submit a request to TDA on the applicable form, which are available on the Intake Forms page of SquareMeals (https://squaremeals.org/FandNResources/CoronavirusUpdateforContractingEntities/IntakeForms.aspx). Operators must provide specific site information and justification for the request. Criteria for approval may include:

An increase in transmission of COVID-19 in the area.
Child nutrition staffing issues caused by a COVID-19 outbreak
Closure of facility due specifically to a COVID-19 outbreak.
Mandated quarantine of an entire classroom/select population due to COVID-19 exposure
