Ramadan Waiver - January 27, 2026 – Status: APPROVED – TDA is requesting to allow non-congregate meal service during Ramadan in 2026 (February 17 through March 19) for schools/sites participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). In CACFP, this waiver will only be available in emergency shelters, adult day care centers, outside-school-hours care centers (OSHCC), and the at-risk afterschool component. Similar to 2025, if approved, contracting organizations must submit a waiver notification form with additional information explaining how non-congregate service will be implemented when participants observing Ramadan are fasting during typical meal service times.
November 20, 2025 – Status: Pending – TDA is requesting from USDA to allow CACFP sponsors already approved for a waiver to conduct one offsite monitoring waiver to conduct a second review of sites/providers in good standing that are 100 miles or 2 hours' travel time away from the nearest sponsor field office. Providers must be in good standing, and sponsors must submit a request form and management plan prior to being approved for this flexibility.
November 20, 2025 – Status: Pending – TDA is requesting from USDA to allow CACFP sponsors of child care centers and adult day care centers in good standing to conduct one required provider visit offsite during Program Year 2026.
