Who reviews and approves the completed application?
Upon receipt of the completed application, the Texas
Department of Agriculture (TDA), Food and Nutrition (F&N) will
review the application packet for completion. Should further information be needed, TDA will notify you.
What can I expect?
The processing time to review and approve the completed
application package can vary from 3 to 4 weeks depending upon current
workload. Once the application package has been approved, the following will
be sent to the Contracting Entity (CE):
-
A copy of the TDA FND Permanent Agreement or Contracting Entity Specific Amendment, as applicable, signed by the Chief Administrator for F&N, sent by mail,
-
Notification sent to each authorized representative as provided
on Certificate of Authority for External Users (FND-101) providing information
regarding accessing the Texas Unified Nutrition Programs System
(TX-UNPS), sent via e-mail
When can we file the first claim for reimbursement?
Provided that you have sufficient records to substantiate your
claim for reimbursement amounts, the first claim month period you may request
reimbursement will be for the calendar month preceding the calendar month in
which the Chief Administrator for F&N has signed and approved the TDA FND Permanent Agreement or Contracting Entity Specific Agreement, as applicable. (For example, if the Chief Administrator for F&N has approved and signed the TDA FND Permanent Agreement on March 20, then a claim for reimbursement can be filed for the entire month of February.)
