NSLP - SY 2022-2023
DoD Fresh Program: Final weeks to spend entitlement through FFAVORS (Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Order/Receipt System)
All orders must be placed to bring in fresh produce deliveries no later than June 30, 2023. Remember that deliveries must align with the vendor’s assigned delivery day of the week. All login assistance and delivery assistance must go through respective, DLA Texas Produce Support Specialist which can be found on the Squaremeals website under the Food Distribution Program / Contract Packet section.
Please remember to receipt for each delivery. USDA guidelines require participants receipt for each delivery within 7 calendar days from the requested delivery date. Receipting helps the produce vendor to resolve delivery issues or closes out the delivery at the USDA level. The DoD Fresh Program utilizes state entitlement with no delivery fees.
TX-UNPS: Food Distribution Program – Save a copy of the Weekly Commodity Bulletin prior to leaving for summer break.
However, USDA Foods will reconcile balances in July which may impact entitlement values according to participation.
Adjustments include:
• a final weighted average adjustment for pounds used for further processing,
• a weighted average per case price for items received through the Farm to
School Program
• final balances spent utilizing the DoD Fresh Program.
NSLP - SY 2023-2024
DoD Fresh Program: For participants only – Funds will be loaded into FFAVORS over the summer months to allow program participants to begin ordering as early as July 1, 2023.
Should additional opportunity to receive additional funds, USDA Foods will announce a timeline with instructions. Note – DoD Fresh Program funds utilizes a portion of the available/unspent beginning entitlement.
Farm to School Program: Non-Pilot group (TX-UNPS) – It’s not too late to participate. Survey is open in TX-UNPS: Food Distribution Program to select cases of watermelons, pears, apples, oranges, and grapefruits to coincide with the TDA Contracted Warehouse, delivery/route schedule.
Direct Delivery - Cases (also known as Brown Box or Regular, USDA Foods items): Should rounds to request additional cases become available, USDA Foods will announce a timeline with guidance.
Processing Diversion - Pounds (also known as Further Processing items): Should rounds to request additional pounds become available, USDA Foods will announce a timeline with guidance.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
