New Feature and Process for Texas ELMS

" August 31, 2021 - Texas ELMS has a new modified individual search feature and upload process to "un-claim" more than 1 student at a time. TEA matches will be available after September 5th.
The Texas ELMS database was refreshed on July 1, 2021. Since the updated data comes straight from HHSC, the TEA unique ID, site, and grade information are not available yet because they are based on TEA's current attendance records. The Unique ID and pre-matches with site number and grade level will be available after September 5th.

There are now 3 ways to use the Direct Certification search features:
  1. Upload CLAIM -- this is the same batch upload process used since Texas ELMS opened in 2017
  2. Upload UNCLAIM -- this is a new process that allows the CE to unclaim more than 1 student at a time.
  3. SEARCH now includes a partial match for Name and DOB searches.
Partial matching is now available in the individual search claiming process. Only the 1st two letters of the first and last name and the DOB are required. The results will show all records for students whose names start with those letters and have a DOB 2 days prior or 2 days past the given DOB. This will make it easier to find those students that the HHSC record has names misspelled or the incorrect DOB was entered.

The Batch Unclaim process will benefit those CEs that have sites that do not participate in NSLP, but the eligible students at those sites are still listed in the match report. The Batch Unclaim works just like the claiming upload. You will get a message asking you to confirm that you want to unclaim these students. (If you make a mistake, you can always reverse the action with a Batch Claim upload!)

Resources on how to use these and other features of Texas ELMS are available on the Texas ELMS page on or search for "Texas ELMS" on the Square Meals home page.
