Update on Non-Congregate Feeding during Extreme Heat/Weather

" June 1, 2022 - TDA is requesting from USDA the discretion to allow summer sites experiencing extreme heat or other extreme weather events to serve non-congregate meals on those days. If approved, TDA will provide further guidance on the request process.
"
June 1, 2022 - In summers prior to 2020, USDA had issued a demonstration project allowing sites experiencing extreme heat or other extreme weather to serve non-congregate meals on those days. For Summer 2022, in lieu of a demonstration project, states are required to request waiver authority from USDA to allow non-congregate service under these conditions. TDA has submitted its request to USDA and is awaiting a response. If approved, TDA will implement a request/notification process similar to what was used in past demonstration projects. Please monitor SquareMeals frequently for updates.
